Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Denis Clemente scored a game-high 23 points and dished out five assists, as 10th-ranked Kansas State defeated Nebraska, 76-57, at the Devaney Sports Center.
Jamar Samuels totaled 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds for the Wildcats (18-4, 5-3 Big 12), who had lost two their last three games. Jacob Pullen logged 13 points, while Curtis Kelly finished with 12 points, five boards and five blocks in the win, Kansas State's first in Lincoln since March 1, 2006. Nebraska had won each of the last three meetings on its home court.
Brian Diaz scored 13 points and Ryan Anderson added 10 for the Cornhuskers (13-9, 1-6), who have dropped six of seven.
K-State led 14-7 after Clemente nailed a three-pointer, and a Samuels jumper extended the visitors' advantage to 30-15 with just under eight minutes remaining in the opening half.
The Wildcats continued to maintain a double-digit lead and carried a 42-28 edge into the break.
Nebraska scored seven straight points at the outset of the second half, but Clemente hit three consecutive shots from beyond the arc for a 53-37 K-State lead. The Wildcats were in firm control, leading 70-47 on a Rodney McGruder bucket with about six minutes left, and coasted to the final buzzer.
