Piscataway, NJ (Sports Network) - Mike Rosario poured in a career-high 33 points to power the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to an 84-72 victory over the St. John's Red Storm in Big East Conference action.

Hamady Ndiaye posted 19 points and nine rebounds for Rutgers (11-11, 2-8 Big East), and he also blocked nine shots, a program record for a Big East contest. Jonathan Mitchell pitched in 18 points for Jonathan Mitchell.

DJ Kennedy netted 27 points and grabbed nine boards in the loss for St. John's (12-9, 2-7). Sean Evans posted 11 points and nine rebounds for the Red Storm, who got 10 points from Justin Burrell.

Rutgers shot 56 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5-of-9 from three-point range, and led 40-29 at intermission.

The Scarlet Knights connected on an almost identical 56.7 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half to seal the win.

A 38-28 rebounding advantage certainly helped the cause for Rutgers.
