Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Jimmer Fredette scored 26 points to lead the 12th-ranked BYU Cougars to a 76-56 win over the TCU Horned Frogs.

Noah Hartsock scored 14 points for the Cougars (22-2, 7-1 Mountain West), who have won two straight following a loss to New Mexico on January 27 and have captured 17 of their last 18 games overall. Jackson Emery added 12 points while Chris Miles pulled down 11 rebounds in the win.

Greg Hill and Garlon Green both posted 11 points for the Horned Frogs (10-13, 2-6), who have dropped four straight.

Midway through the opening half, a three-pointer by Lamont Morgan gave the Cougars a 10-point lead at 21-11. Another trey by Morgan with under six minutes to go in the half gave the hosts a 26-13 advantage, and Fredette closed the scoring in the stanza with a bucket that sent BYU to the locker room with a 35-21 lead.

Two free throws by Green with 4:15 gone in the second half drew the visitors within 10, 38-28, but a quick 7-0 run by the Cougars, courtesy of a Miles jumper and five points by Fredette, made it 45-28.

Near the midpoint of the frame, a basket by Jonathan Tavernari put BYU on top by a 49-35 margin.

With under seven minutes to go, a free throw by Keion Mitchem closed the TCU deficit to nine, 59-50, but BYU slowly pushed their lead back to double digits over the next four-plus minutes. Fredette's pair from the charity stripe with under three minutes to go gave way for a 71-54 lead and essentially sealed the win.
