Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Lazar Hayward notched a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Marquette Golden Eagles took care of the DePaul Blue Demons 80-69 in a Big East Conference affair at the Bradley Center.

Darius Johnson-Odom scored a game-high 21 points in the victory for Marquette (14-8, 5-5 Big East). Jimmy Butler and Dwight Buycks provided healthy efforts, netting 18 and 14 points, respectively.

DePaul (8-14, 1-9) was led by Mac Koshwal's 18 points. Will Walker contributed 13 points in the loss, while Eric Wallace added 11.

The Blue Demons could only muster 19 points in the first half behind 8-of-24 shooting, and trailed 32-19 heading into the intermission.

The second half told a different story, however Marquette was able to sink 23- of-27 free-throw attempts to help solidify the victory.

Both teams came out firing after a low-scoring first half, scoring a combined 98 points in the second stanza (Marquette 50, DePaul 48).
