Final Score: Duquesne 60 - Temple 76
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Lavoy Allen dominated the paint with 14 points and 15 rebounds, and 19th-ranked Temple pulled away from Duquesne in the second half for a 76-60 victory at the Liacouras Center.
Ramone Moore added 15 points in his third consecutive double-digit scoring game for the Owls (19-4, 7-1 A-10), who have won eight of nine and improved to 10-1 at home. Rahlir Jefferson had 11 points, while Luis Guzman had nine in the victory.
Bill Clark and Eric Evans each had 12 points to pace the Dukes (11-11, 2-6), who have won only one of their nine true road games. Damian Saunders provided nine points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals, but it wasn't enough, as Duquesne fell to Temple for the 15th time in the last 17 meetings.
The Dukes jumped out to a 10-2 lead early after a pair of Clark three- pointers, but Temple quickly fought back, tying the game at 21 on a Craig Williams three just past the midway point of the first half.
A pair of T.J. DiLeo free throws then put the Owls ahead for the first time, and DiLeo scored five points during an 8-0 burst shortly thereafter that put the hosts ahead, 31-23.
Temple maintained a slight advantage for the remainder of the half and held a 42-34 edge at halftime.
Duquesne got to within four a few minutes into the second half, but Temple answered with a 13-2 run to create some breathing room.
Allen had six points during the stretch, which Ryan Brooks ended with a three- pointer for a 58-43 cushion with just under 10 minutes left.
Jefferson later added four straight free throws for a 70-46 Temple lead with six minutes to go, and the outcome was never in doubt down the stretch.
