Carbondale, IL (Sports Network) - Gene Teague scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Southern Illinois Salukis to a 73-67 victory over the Missouri State Bears in a Missouri Valley Conference tilt at SIU Arena.

Justin Bocot added 13 points for SIU (13-9, 5-7 MVC), while Kevin Dillard and Anthony Booker posted 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Adam Leonard poured in 29 points for Missouri State (15-8, 5-7), while Will Creekmore tallied 12 points, to go along with seven rebounds.

The Bears went into the intermission with a 37-33 lead after shooting 55.6 percent from the field, and that included a 6-of-12 clip from behind the arc.

The Salukis fought back in the second stanza, using a 44.0 percent shooting effort and a 15-of-17 clip from the foul line to grab a six-point win.

The bench for Southern Illinois tallied 18 points, while Missouri State's reserves posted just four points.
