Pullman, WA (Sports Network) - Ty Abbott scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Arizona State Sun Devils to an 81-70 victory over the Washington State Cougars in a Pac-10 Conference battle.

Derek Glasser tallied 15 points for Arizona State (16-7, 6-4 Pac-10), which got 13 points from Eric Boateng and 10 points from Trent Lockett.

Klay Thompson poured in 20 points in defeat for Washington State (14-8, 4-6). The Cougars received 13 points apiece from Nikola Koprivica, Marcus Capers and Reggie Moore.

Arizona State led 40-26 at intermission after shooting 62.5 percent from the floor in the first half.

Both teams shot 50 percent from the field and 16-of-20 from the foul line in the second half, and the Sun Devils had no trouble making their halftime lead hold up.

ASU overcame 17 turnovers in the clash, while the Cougars committed only nine giveaways in defeat.
