South Bend, IN (Sports Network) - Luke Harangody scored a game-high 37 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to an 83-65 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats in a Big East Conference showdown at the Joyce Center.

Tim Abromaitis also added 22 points for the Fighting Irish (16-7, 5-5 Big East), while Ben Hansbrough chipped in with 12 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

The Bearcats (14-8, 5-5) were paced by Larry Davis, who scored 12 points in a losing effort. Deonta Vaughn and Yancy Gates also got involved, netting 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Notre Dame got off to a fast start, shooting 42.4 percent from the field to take a 40-27 lead at the break.

The Fighting Irish put the game away in the second stanza, knocking down 15- of-28 shots from the floor en route to an 18-point victory.

Notre Dame outscored the Bearcats 38-26 in the paint.
