Lafayette, LA (Sports Network) - Tyren Johnson scored a game-high 22 points to lead the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns to an 83-63 win over the FIU Golden Panthers in a Sun Belt Conference tussle at the Cajundome.
Randell Daigle also added 19 points for the Ragin' Cajuns (10-12, 7-4 SBC), while Chris Gradnigo chipped in with 13 points in the loss. Travis Bureau and Lamar Roberson also got involved, netting 11 and 10 points, respectively.
FIU (7-18, 4-8) was paced by J.C. Otero, who tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort. Phil Gary also added 14 points for the Golden Panthers.
ULL too control of the contest in the first half, shooting 46.9 percent from the floor to take a 40-29 lead at the break.
The Ragin' Cajuns put the game away in the second stanza, knocking down 5- of-10 three-point attempts en route to a 20-point victory.
Three-point shooting proved to be the difference in this contest as ULL outscored FIU 30-9 from long distance.
