Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) - Erving Walker knocked down a floater in the lane with 11 seconds remaining to give the Florida Gators a thrilling 66-65 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide in SEC action at Coleman Coliseum.

Walker finished the night with 16 points for the Gators (16-6, 5-3 SEC) as they won for the fifth time in the last six outings. Leading the way on offense for Florida was Alex Tyus with 19 points, adding a team-best seven rebounds, while Kenny Boynton tossed in 15 points and cleared seven boards of his own for the visitors.

The Crimson Tide (13-9, 3-5), losers of two straight, were paced by Mikhail Torrance who registered a game-high 22 points on 5-of-11 shooting behind the three-point line, while JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Florida made good on 51.7 percent from the field in the first half, but the squad failed to make a single trip to the free-throw line in the frame and that allowed the home team to claim a 37-33 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Gators moved out to a 62-56 advantage with just over three minutes to play, but the Tide battled back and actually grabbed the lead at 65-64 on a driving layup by Torrance with under a minute to play, setting the stage for the game winner by Walker.

The Gators outscored Alabama in the paint, 34-24, and held a 35-24 rebounding advantage in a meeting that pitted Crimson Tide head coach Anthony Grant against his former mentor at Florida, Billy Donovan.
