Kalamazoo, MI (Sports Network) - Kenny Hayes knocked down a clutch jumper with less than one second remaining to lift the Miami-Ohio RedHawks over the Western Michigan Broncos by a 56-54 final in Mid-American Conference play.

Hayes finished with 16 points for Miami-Ohio (9-13, 6-3 MAC), which received 14 points from Julian Mavunga. Antonio Ballard pitched in 10 points and 10 rebounds.

David Kool had 19 points and 10 boards in the heart-breaking setback for Western Michigan (12-10, 4-5), while teammate Martelle McLemore added 17 points.

Western Michigan led 29-24 at intermission after holding Miami to 34.8 percent shooting from the field in the first half.

Over the final 20 minutes, the RedHawks hit all 10 of their foul shots and held the Broncos to 32 percent field goal efficiency.

Miami has its first three-game winning streak of the season and earned its first victory at Western Michigan since 1999.
