Spokane, WA (Sports Network) - Matt Bouldin scored 20 points to lead all scorers, and 17th-ranked Gonzaga responded from its first conference loss since 2008 with a resounding 76-49 victory over Portland.

Demetri Goodson added 12 points for the Bulldogs (18-4, 7-1 WCC), who had won 27 consecutive conference games before last Saturday's loss to San Francisco. Elias Harris contributed with 10 points, while Mangisto Arop had eight points and seven rebounds in the victory.

Robin Smeulders scored 12 points to lead Portland (14-8, 5-3), which had won its previous four games. Ethan Niedermeyer was the only other player in double-figures for the Pilots with 11 points.

The game was tied at 15-all with 7 1/2 minutes to go in the first half, but that is when Gonzaga took over.

A 26-6 spurt ensued to close out the half, giving the Bulldogs what proved to be an insurmountable lead.

Goodson's three-pointer dropped with 6:48 left to give the hosts a 20-15 advantage, and Bouldin drilled two consecutive shots -- one from long-distance -- with 2 1/2 minutes left for a 35-17 cushion.

Arop's layup in the final seconds put Gonzaga ahead, 41-21, at halftime. Arop and Bouldin each had seven points during the game-changing surge that wasn't overcome in the second half.

The Bulldogs' lead never dipped below 20 in the final 20 minutes, as the hosts cruised to the victory.
