Harrison DuPont tallied 13 points for The Citadel (11-12, 5-6 SoCon).

Josh Davis posted 24 points in defeat for Samford (9-14, 3-8), which received 16 points from Bryan Friday.

The Citadel led 26-23 at intermission after holding Samford to 33.3 percent shooting from the floor in the first half.

The Bulldogs sealed the narrow victory on the strength of a 5-of-9 performance from three-point range in the second half.

Clearly, the fact that The Citadel committed only nine turnovers helped the cause.
