Richmond, KY (Sports Network) - Papa Oppong scored 19 points as he led the Eastern Kentucky Colonels to a 76-58 win over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup at McBrayer Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Colonels (16-8, 8-4 OVC) were Josh Daniel with 17 points and Justin Stommes 12 in the team's second straight victory.

The Golden Eagles (12-11, 6-6) were paced by Kevin Murphy and Elijah Muhammad who registered 16 and 14 points, respectively, as the team had a four-game win streak snapped.

Both offenses started out slow in the first half, but EKU closed out the frame on a 7-0 run to claim a 39-23 advantage at the break.

In the second half Oppong hit a couple of shots from the floor and Stommes converted a jumper to push the lead out to 46-23, allowing the home team to cruise to the 18-point win.

The Colonels finished the night shooting 13-of-27 behind the three-point line and turned the ball over just six times in the triumph.
