Valparaiso, IN (Sports Network) - N'Gai Evans scored 18 points as the Wright State Raiders bested the Valparaiso Crusaders, 75-71, in a Horizon League matchup.

Vaughn Duggins added 17 points for the Raiders (15-8, 8-4 HL), and Todd Brown pitched in 12 points.

Brandon Wood scored 18 points for Valparaiso (11-13, 6-6), and he added nine rebounds as well. Brandon McPherson had 17 points and Cory Johnson posted 16 points.

Wright State led by as many as 15 points in the first half to take a 31-21 halftime advantage. The Raiders were 7-of-11 from long range in the opening 20 minutes.

The Raiders helped their cause by hitting 13-of-19 foul shots in the second half.

Valparaiso struggled from long range all evening, going just 4-of-22 from outside the arc.
