Riverdale, NY (Sports Network) - Darryl Crawford scored a game-high 20 points as he led the Manhattan Jaspers to a 72-47 win over the Marist Red Foxes in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Draddy Gym.
Also scoring in double figures for the Jaspers (8-15, 3-10 MAAC) were Rico Pickett and George Beamon with 13 points apiece as the squad snapped a lengthy seven-game slide. Kevin Laue, who is believed to be the only Division I player on scholarship with only one hand, also knocked down a hook shot in the final minutes for the home team.
Marist (1-22, 1-12) was led by Candon Rusin with 12 points, Daye Kaba 11 and eight boards and Korey Bauer 10 points in the team's 11th consecutive setback.
Manhattan shot only 37.1 percent from the field in the first half, including 1-of-8 behind the three-point line, yet that was still enough to earn the squad a 29-22 lead at the break.
In the second half the Jaspers erupted with 66.7 percent from the floor to capture the 25-point win.
Manhattan led the way on the glass with a 40-27 advantage and also held the Red Foxes to a mere 3-of-18 shooting behind the three-point line and 30.6 percent from the field.
