Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Julius Thomas scored 16 points, leading five players in double figures, as the Portland State Vikings registered a 76-62 win over the Sacramento State Hornets in a Big Sky Conference matchup at the Nest.

Dominic Waters added 15 points, Jamie Jones 14 and nine rebounds, Alonzo Brandon 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting behind the three-point line and Paul Guede 11 points and seven boards for the Vikings (10-12, 5-5 Big Sky) as they picked up their second straight win.

The Hornets (8-16, 2-9) were paced by Justin Eller who delivered a game-high 18 points, while Sultan Toles-Bey and John Dickson posted 12 and 11 points, respectively, as the squad lost for the sixth time in the last seven outings.

Sacramento State pushed out to a 7-0 lead to start the game and led by as many as 11 points in the period, but down the stretch the Vikings began chipping away at their deficit and finally found themselves with a 31-28 deficit at the break.

Down by two points at 38-36, PSU put together a 10-0 run that essentially put the Vikings ahead for good and eventually led by 14 at the end of regulation.

The Hornets, who turned the ball over 16 times, were beaten on the glass by a count of 36-25.
