Fairfield, CT (Sports Network) - Anthony Johnson nearly registered a triple- double as he posted 14 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots in leading the Fairfield Stags to a 59-46 win over the Saint Peter's Peacocks in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

Derek Needham accounted for a game-high 20 points for the Stags (16-7, 9-4 MAAC) and Sean Crawford 12 as the team won for the second time in the last three outings.

The Peacocks (13-10, 8-5), losers of two of their last three, were led by Ryan Bacon with 14 points, six rebounds, four steals and three blocks, while Nick Leon chipped in with 10 points on 4-of-14 shooting from the floor.

Saint Peter's made a total of only nine field goals in the first half, leaving the visitors with a 34-27 deficit at the break.

In the second half the Peacocks suffered even more with a mere 7-of-26 shooting from the floor, allowing Fairfield to come away with the 13-point home win.

Saint Peter's converted just 3-of-17 shots behind the three-point line and ended with 19 turnovers.
