NCAA Game Summary - Duke at Boston College

Final Score: Duke 66 - Boston College 63

Chestnut Hill, MA (Sports Network) - Jon Scheyer scored 21 points, including two key free throws in the final seconds, as 10th-ranked Duke edged Boston College, 66-63, at Conte Forum.

Nolan Smith also contributed 21 points and Kyle Singler added 12 points for the Blue Devils (19-4, 7-2 ACC), who have won four of five.

Corey Raji posted 15 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles (12-11, 3-6), who have dropped six of eight. Rakim Sanders had 13 points and Joe Trapani posted 12 but missed a potential game-tying three as time expired.

Tyler Roche's runner in the lane with 2:56 to play got BC within 58-52, and after several long-range Duke shots fell short, he hit two from the line for a four-point game.

Smith's runner with 1:24 left made it 60-54 and Raji hit a pair from the line with 55.2 remaining.

Trapani's two from the line with 41.1 ticks left got BC within three points, then Smith hit one of two for a 62-58 contest. BC missed several shots on its ensuing possession, but Raji made it a two-point game from the charity stripe.

Two more Blue Devils' free throws opened up a 64-60 edge but Reggie Jackson's guarded, fadeaway three with 15.1 on the clock pulled the Eagles within 64-63.

Scheyer was fouled and calmly sank his attempts and Duke was up 66-63 with 12 seconds to go, but the Blue Devils defended well and Trapani's desperation try at the buzzer hit the front of the rim.

The opening 20 minutes were a tight affair, and Duke didn't get separation until Smith's rainbow three with 3:54 left made it 28-23.

Jackson hit a jumper, but Scheyer then hit three buckets in a row, including a trey, and the Blue Devils led 35-25 with 1:08 to go. BC's Cortney Dunn missed the front end of a one-and-one and the Eagles trailed by 10 at the break.

Trapani's layup cut the Eagles' deficit to 37-33 a little more than three minutes into the second half, but the visitors extended the lead to 11, at 46-35, in two minutes after Bran Zoubek's deuce in the paint. Duke kept the home team at arm's length until late.
