Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Damian Saunders scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Duquesne Dukes to a 70-63 win over the George Washington Colonials in Atlantic 10 Conference play at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Melquan Bolding also added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Dukes (12-11, 3-6 A-10).

The Colonials (12-10, 2-7) were paced by Lasan Kromah, who tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort. Dwayne Smith also got involved, scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Bryan Bynes chipped in with 11 points.

Duquesne got off to a fast start, shooting 40.6 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 33-28 lead at the break.

The Dukes put the game away in the second stanza, knocking down 10-of-17 free- throws en route to the seven-point victory.

Duquesne controlled the post, outscoring the Colonials 40-28 in the paint.
