Huntington, WV (Sports Network) - Tirrell Baines scored 18 points to lead the Marshall Thundering Herd to a convincing, 100-49 victory over the East Carolina Pirates in Conference-USA action at the Cam Henderson Arena.

Tyler Wilkerson added 17 points for Marshall (16-7, 5-4 C-USA), while Chris Lutz and Hassan Whiteside tallied 15 points apiece in the win.

Brock Young and Darrius Morrow led the way for ECU (7-16, 1-8), as both played finished with 11 points apiece.

The Herd went into the break with a 33-21 lead after holding East Carolina to a meager 23.5 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first 20 minutes of action.

Marshall pulled away in the second stanza, thanks to a staggering 65.0 percent shooting effort, which included a 7-of-10 clip from behind the arc.

The Herd finished 8-of-16 from long range, while East Carolina connected on just one of its 14 three-point attempts.
