Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Tristan Thompson scored 19 points and Eric Tramiel added 17, as the North Texas Mean Green earned a 68-66 win over the Florida International Golden Panthers in Sun Belt Conference action from U.S. Century Bank Arena.

George Odufuwa (11 rebounds) and Josh White each scored 11 for the Mean Green (15-8, 8-5 SBC), who have now won six of their last eight contests.

FIU (7-19, 4-9) has dropped nine of its last 12. Marvin Roberts had a team- high 16 points in a losing effort, Phil Gary scored 15 off the bench, and Stephon Weaver finished with 12 points and seven assists.

North Texas shot 55.2 percent from the floor in the first half and led by eight with 2:45 remaining until halftime. But FIU put together a late rally to tie the score at 39-39 at intermission.

Midway through the second half, FIU went on a 16-1 run to take a 63-56 lead with 4:50 to play. From there, North Texas went on an 11-0 run to take the lead for good.

North Texas held a key 42-33 rebounding advantage for the game.
