El Paso, TX (Sports Network) - Jeremy Williams scored 15 points to lead the Texas-El Paso Miners to a 73-59 victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a Conference-USA battle at the Don Haskins Center.

Derrick Caracter notched 12 points to go with 12 boards in the win for UTEP (17-5, 8-1 C-USA), while Arnett Moultrie finished with a double-double as well of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Christian Polk got into the mix as well, checking in off the bench with 10 points for the Miners.

Jerome Jordan posted a game-high 20 points to lead the way for Tulsa (18-5, 7-2).

The opening period of play ended in a 30-30 deadlock after both squads shot just over 44.0 percent from the field.

The Miners took control of the contest during the second stanza, however, hitting 52.0 percent of their attempts from the field to go with a 14-of-18 effort at the foul line.

The Golden Hurricane were guilty of a game-high 15 giveaways in the loss.
