Robo Kreps pitched in 20 points for Illinois-Chicago (6-17, 2-11 HL), while teammate Jeremy Buttell grabbed 11 rebounds.

DeAndre Mays finished with 22 points and five assists in the loss for Youngstown State (8-15, 2-11), which received 21 points from Vytas Sulskis.

UIC led 37-24 at intermission after shooting 50 percent from the floor in the first half.

The Flames shot a lowly 33.3 percent in the second half, but they did score 17 points from the foul line over the final 20 minutes.
