Las Cruces, NM (Sports Network) - Hernst LaRoche nailed a clutch jumper with 1.1 seconds remaining to lead the New Mexico State Aggies to a 70-68 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a Western Athletic Conference affair.

Jahmar Young tallied 20 points for New Mexico State (15-8, 8-2 WAC), which moved into a first-place tie with Utah State in the conference standings. The Aggies also got 19 points from Troy Gillenwater.

Magnum Rolle tallied 18 points to lead a balanced attack in the disappointing setback for Louisiana Tech (19-5, 7-3).

Neither team was able to establish dominance in the first half, and the game was deadlocked at 33-33 at intermission.

The Aggies led by as many as 17 points in the second half, but an 13-0 run by the Bulldogs made things interesting. Jamel Guyton hit a three-pointer for Tech to tie the score at 68-68 with 35 seconds remaining, but LaRoche's long rebound and contested shot broke the hearts of the Bulldogs.

New Mexico State won the first meeting of the season between these teams back on January 30th by a 91-77 final.
