Lawrenceville, NJ (Sports Network) - Ryan Thompson exploded for 31 points to lead the Rider Broncs to a 70-62 victory over the Niagara Purple Eagles in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.

Justin Robinson pitched in 14 points for Rider (14-12, 7-7 MAAC), while teammate Novar Gadson contributed 12 points.

Tyrone Lewis posted 17 points in defeat for Niagara (13-13, 6-8). Demetrius Williamson had 13 points and Bilal Benn finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Niagara dominated the first half, as the Purple Eagles finished the stanza on a 15-4 run en route to a 37-23 advantage at intermission.

Rider trailed by a 49-37 final with just over 13 minutes remaining, but the Broncos proceeded to close the game on an improbable 33-13 run to fight back and claim the victory.

The Broncs, who shot just 26.7 percent from the floor in the first half, connected on 56.7 percent of their attempts after the break.
