Columbia, SC (Sports Network) - Devan Downey turned in 24 points to pace the South Carolina Gamecocks past the Florida Gators, 77-71, in a Southeastern Conference clash at Colonial Life Arena.

Brandis Raley-Ross tallied 20 points for South Carolina (14-9, 5-4 SEC), while Sam Muldrow had 16 points and eight rebounds in the winning effort.

Erving Walker tallied 20 points for Florida (17-7, 6-4), which saw its two- game win streak come to an end. Kenny Boynton and Chandler Parsons both scored 13 points, with Parsons recording 11 boards and six assists. Alex Tyus also had a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Florida shot an unconscious 68.2 percent from the floor in the opening half, as it took a 35-31 lead to the locker room.

The Gamecocks went 6-of-13 from long distance and 16-of-20 at the foul line in the second half, as they rallied for the six-point decision.
