St. Bonaventure, NY (Sports Network) - Chris Matthews scored 22 points, as the St. Bonaventure Bonnies defeated the Fordham Rams, 72-61, in an Atlantic 10 battle at Reilly Center.

Andrew Nicholson netted 14 points and snared eight rebounds for St. Bonaventure (10-12, 3-6 A-10). Michael Davenport dropped 12 points, while Jonathan Hall added 11 points and seven assists in the win.

Fordham (2-20, 0-10) was led by Brenton Butler's game-high 26 points. Fahro Alihodzic netted 14 points in the loss, while Chris Gaston added 10 points and tore down 14 rebounds.

The Rams only hit on 7-of-24 field-goal attempts in the first half and trailed 34-19 at the intermission.

Fordham made its best attempt at a second half comeback, hitting on 54.5 percent of its shots from the floor, but it wasn't enough in the 11-point setback.

St. Bonaventure was very disciplined in the affair, turning the ball over a total of three times on the night.
