Des Moines, IA (Sports Network) - Adam Koch led a balanced attack with 12 points and eight rebounds, as the 19th-ranked Northern Iowa Panthers used a late surge to hold off the Drake Bulldogs, 57-48.

Ali Farokhmanesh and Johnny Moran each ended with 10 points for the Panthers (22-2, 13-1 MVC), who have won six in a row. Jordan Eglseder and Lucas O'Rear tallied eight points apiece.

Josh Young and Ryan Wedel finished with 11 points each for the Bulldogs (11-15, 6-8), who have dropped three straight. Frank Wiseler donated nine points, while Adam Templeton grabbed 10 rebounds and scored five points in defeat.

Trailing 36-30 with over 13 1/2 minutes remaining in the second half, the Bulldogs went on a 12-3 run to take the lead. Templeton bookended the spurt with a layup and three-pointer to give Drake a 42-39 edge with 8:45 to play.

The margin was the same following threes from Moran and Wedel, but it was all UNI from that point on. The Panthers scored 15 consecutive points to claim victory. Farokhmanesh highlighted the flurry with a pair of shots from beyond the arc. Moran capped the stretch with a layup, making it 57-45 with 30 seconds left. Wiseler made a trey to account for the final margin.

Ahead 20-19 with less than six minutes to go in the first half, the Panthers used a personal 6-0 burst from Koch to build a seven-point margin with less than 4 1/2 minutes to go. The score was 28-24 at the break.
