Harrisonburg, VA (Sports Network) - Gerald Lee tallied a game-high 18 points and the Old Dominion Monarchs topped the James Madison Dukes, 64-44, in a Colonial Athletic Association bout at the Convocation Center.
Lee finished the night 7-of-13 from the floor and with six boards, as ODU (19-7, 11-3 CAA) won for the second time in three games. Darius James tacked on 12 points and four assists, while Ben Finney had 11 points and five boards in the victory.
Denzel Bowles guided JMU (10-15, 3-11) in defeat with a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards. Pierre Curtis added five points and two helpers and in the process he broke the school's career assist record with 422.
Behind 51.5 percent shooting from the floor, ODU controlled the first half and took a sizeable 40-21 advantage to the intermission.
The Dukes made just 29.1 percent of their field goals in the second stanza, as they were unable to get anything going in the 20-point setback.
JMU went just 1-of-12 from long range in suffering its fourth loss in a row. The Monarchs, meanwhile, finished a much better 7-of-16 from beyond the arc.
