Greenville, NC (Sports Network) - Brock Young posted a game-high 18 points, nine assists and six boards to pace the East Carolina Pirates in a 71-68 victory over the Tulane Green Wave in a Conference USA matchup at Minges Coliseum.

Jamar Abrams added 16 points in the win for East Carolina (8-16, 2-8 C-USA), while Darrius Morrow and Jontae Sherrod notched 11 points apiece.

Kendall Timmons scored 16 points and collected seven boards to lead the way for Tulane (7-16, 2-8), while Aaron Holmes added 15 points in the losing effort. David Booker and Asim McQueen got into the mix as well, finishing with 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Green Wave.

East Carolina went 5-of-8 from long range and 8-of-10 at the foul line in the first half, taking a 41-31 lead to the locker room.

In the second half, the Pirates knocked down 50.0 percent of their attempts from the floor and used a 15-of-21 effort from the foul line to stall a late Tulane rally and escape with a three-point win.

The Green Wave converted a lackluster 16-of-26 from the charity stripe in the loss.
