Boone, NC (Sports Network) - Donald Sims scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Appalachian State Mountaineers to a 66-56 win over the Davidson Wildcats in a Southern Conference showdown at the Holmes Center.

Kellen Brand and Marcus Wright added 10 points apiece for the Mountaineers (15-10, 9-4 SoCon), while Josh Hunter chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Davidson (12-12, 7-5) was paced by Bryant Barr who scored 15 points in a losing effort. Jake Cohen and Will Archambault also got involved, netting 10 points apiece for the Wildcats.

Davidson got off to fast start, knocking down 7-of-18 three-point attempts in the first half, to take a 30-28 lead at the break.

ASU stormed back in the second stanza, shooting 60.9 percent from the floor, en route to a 10-point victory.

Appalachian State finished the contest shooting 14-of-18 at the free-throw line to help overcome 17 turnovers.
