Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Ricky Harris scored 29 points and dished out six assists to lead the Massachusetts Minutemen to an 84-80 overtime win in an Atlantic 10 Conference clash at the A.J. Palumbo Center
Anthony Gurley added 20 points for the Minutemen (9-15, 3-7 A-10) while Sean Carter chipped in with 11 points and a career-high 19 rebounds.
The Dukes (12-12, 3-7) were paced by B.J. Monteiro who scored 18 points in a losing effort. Damian Saunders and Bill Clark also got involved, netting 15 and 14 points, respectively. Eric Evans ran the Duquesne offense, tallying 13 points and eight assist, while Melquan Bolding chipped in with 11 points and five assists.
Duquesne jumped out to an early lead at 14-4, eventually shooting 48.4 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 41-29 advantage at the break.
UMass stormed back in the second stanza, knocking down 8-of-15 three-point attempts, to tie the game at 72-72 at the end of regulation.
The Minutemen took their first lead of overtime on a pair of free throws by Harris, the team connecting on 4-of-6 shots from the floor in the bonus period, en route to the four-point lead.
UMass dominated Duquesne on the glass, outrebounding the Dukes 60-33 on the night.
