Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Jack Eggleston poured in a career-high 24 points and the Penn Quakers stunned the Cornell Big Red, 79-64, in Ivy League play at The Palestra.
Eggleston finished the night 4-of-5 from long range and with five boards, as Penn (4-15, 3-2 Ivy) won for the first time in seven home games. Zack Rosen also turned in a big game with 22 points and five assists, while Rob Belcore had 10 points and four steals.
Ryan Wittman and Louis Dale each tallied 16 points for Cornell (20-4, 6-1), which had its eight-game winning streak snapped. The two-time defending Ivy League champions also received a double-double of 10 points and 11 boards from Jeff Foote.
The first half was closely contested and Penn went into the break with a 32-31 lead behind a 5-of-13 showing from long distance.
In the second half, the Quakers shot a scorching 65.2 percent from the floor, including 6-of-8 from long range, as they pulled away for the 15-point victory.
Penn went 14-of-17 at the foul line on the night, while also holding a 30-25 edge on the boards.
