New Rochelle, NY (Sports Network) - Rico Pickett sunk a game-high 24 points as the Manhattan Jaspers defeated the Iona Gaels, 66-60, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tussle at the Hynes Center.

Darryl Crawford scored 14 points for Manhattan (9-16, 4-11 MAAC), while Mohamed Koita added 10.

Kyle Smyth led the way with 12 points for Iona (18-8, 10-5), while Scott Machado followed up with 11.

The Jaspers took a strong 40-21 advantage into the intermission after holding Iona to 28.0 percent shooting from the floor in the first half. Manhattan, meanwhile, connected on 60.0 percent of its own field-goal attempts.

The Gaels staged a comeback in the second stanza behind a 7-of-15 effort from long range, but the Jaspers made 14 free throws to hang on for the six-point decision.

Iona committed 20 turnovers on the night and went a dismal 10-of-22 at the foul line.
