Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Dee Bost scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Mississippi State Bulldogs to an 85-75 overtime win over the Auburn Tigers in an SEC showdown at Humphrey Coliseum.
Barry Stewart also added 12 points, five assists and six rebounds for the Bulldogs (18-7, 6-4 SEC), while Romero Osby chipped in with 11 points. Jarvis Varnado also got involved, tallying 10 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks, while Phil Turner chipped in with 10 points off the bench.
The Tigers (12-13, 3-7) were paced by Tay Walker, who scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a losing effort. Lucas Hargrove also added 20 points and 10 rebounds, while DeWayne Reed and Frankie Sullivan netted 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Auburn got off to a fast start, shooting 6-of-18 from three-point range to take a 38-35 lead at the break.
MSU stormed back in the second stanza, shooting 44.8 percent from the floor to send the game into overtime tied at 74-74.
The overtime period was dominated by the Bulldogs who held the Tigers to 0- of-9 shooting from the field en route to a 10-point victory.
The MSU bench was the difference in this game, outscoring Auburn's reserves 21-9 in the victory.
