Towson, MD (Sports Network) - RaShawn Polk scored 17 points to lead the Towson Tigers to a 74-69 win over the Georgia State Panthers in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Towson Center
Josh Brown also added 15 points for Towson (7-18, 4-11 CAA), while Isaiah Philmore checked in with 13 points in the win. Robert Nwankwo also got involved, tallying 12 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks for the Tigers.
Georgia State (10-17, 4-11) was paced by Trae Goldston, who netted 12 points in a losing effort. Ousman Krubally and Jihad Ali also got involved for the Panthers, netting 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Panthers got off to a fast start, shooting 53.6 percent from the floor in the first half, to take a 36-31 lead at the break.
GSU allowed its lead to slip away in the second stanza before Krubally drilled two free-throws with four seconds remaining in regulation, sending the game into overtime tied at 63-63.
Towson took control of the game in the overtime period, knocking down all four of its free-throw attempts, en route to a five-point victory.
Foul shooting proved to be the difference in this contest, as Towson outscored Georgia State 20-13 from the charity stripe.
