Wilmington, NC (Sports Network) - Cornelius Vines scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Hofstra Pride to an 87-70 win over the UNC Wilmington Seahawks in a Colonial Athletic Association tilt at Trask Coliseum

Charles Jenkins also added 22 points for the Pride (14-13, 7-8 CAA), while Greg Washington and Nathaniel Lester chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

UNC Wilmington (8-18, 4-11) was paced by Ahmad Grant who scored 23 points in a losing effort. Chad Tomko also got involved by tallying 13 points, seven steals and five assists.

Hofstra took control of the contest in the first half, shooting 47.1 percent from the floor to take a 39-27 lead at the break.

The Pride pulled away in the second stanza, knocking down 17-of-19 free- throws en route to a 17-point victory.

Hofstra dominated the post, outscoring the Seahawks 40-24 in the paint.
