Omaha, NE (Sports Network) - Dinma Odiakosa finished with 12 points and nine rebounds to lead the Illinois State Redbirds to a 67-63 victory over the Creighton Bluejays in a Missouri Valley Conference bout at the Qwest Center Omaha.

Osiris Eldridge also tallied 12 points for Illinois State (18-8, 9-6 MVC), while Lloyd Phillips added 11 points and six assists. Austin Hill and Kellen Thornton posted 10 points apiece in the win.

Kenny Lawson Jr. netted 20 points for Creighton (13-13, 8-7), while Justin Carter contributed 14 points and nine boards.

The Redbirds went into the break with a 31-30 edge after shooting a mediocre 41.9 percent from the field in the first half.

Illinois State poured it on in the second stanza, as the team connected on 14- of-22 attempts from the floor, en route to the victory.

The Redbirds dominated play in the paint, outscoring Creighton down low by a 36-20 margin.
