Angelo Caloiaro turned in 11 points and five boards USF (11-15, 6-5 WCC), which won for the fourth time in five games.
Vernon Teel poured in 28 points and ripped down eight caroms for LMU (13-13, 4-6), which had its two-game win streak snapped. Jarred DuBois posted 13 points and Drew Viney finished with 10 in the setback.
The Dons hit on 4-of-11 attempts from long range and 10-of-12 at the foul line in the first half, opening a 34-29 lead at the break.
In the second half, USF shot an efficient 54.2 percent from the floor, as it notched the nine-point win.
The Dons went 22-of-30 at the foul line for the game, while the Lions finished just 12-of-18 at the stripe.
