Mobile, AL (Sports Network) - Tim Williams registered a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds as South Alabama picked up the 67-65 win over the Ragin' Cajuns of UL-Lafayette in Sun Belt Conference action at the Mitchell Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Jaguars (15-12, 7-8 SBC) was Martino Brock as he posted 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, followed by Allyn Cooks with 11 points for the squad.
The Ragin' Cajuns (11-14, 8-6) were paced by Tyren Johnson who scored a game- high 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, followed by Chris Gradnigo with 19 points and a team-best eight rebounds on the night.
USA could barely shoot the ball straight in the first half, making a mere 29 percent from the floor and 2-of-14 behind the three-point line, leaving the home team with a 10-point deficit at the break, 35-25.
In the second half the Jags bounced back with not only 50 percent from the floor but also 7-of-11 beyond the arc to claim the two-point win.
South Alabama picked up the win despite shooting only 38.6 percent from the floor on the night.
