Berkeley, CA (Sports Network) - Jerome Randle scored 24 points to lead the California Golden Bears to an 86-70 win over the Washington State Cougars in a Pac-10 Conference showdown at Haas Pavilion.

Patrick Christopher also added 19 points for the Golden Bears (17-8, 9-4 Pac-10), while Jamal Boykin chipped in with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jorge Gutierrez also got involved, tallying 15 points and six assists in the win.

WSU (15-10, 5-8) was paced by Klay Thompson, who scored a game-high 28 points in a losing effort. DeAngelo Casto also added 13 points and five blocks for the Cougars.

The Cougars got off to a fast start, shooting 65.4 percent from the floor in the first half, to take a 45-34 lead at the break.

California stormed back in the second stanza, knocking down 16-of-22 free- throw attempts, en route to a 16-point victory.

Three-point shooting proved to be the difference in the game, as California shot 10-of-21 from beyond the arc, on its way to outscoring WSU 30-21 from long distance.
