Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Jeremy Hazell scored 18 points as the Seton Hall Pirates posted a 79-71 win over the DePaul Blue Demons in Big East Conference play at the Prudential Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Pirates (14-9, 5-7 BE) was Jeff Robinson with 16 points, while Herb Pope cleared a game-high 15 rebounds in the team's second straight victory.

The Blue Demons (8-16, 1-11) were paced by Will Walker with a game-high 19 points, although he shot just 7-of-24 from the field and 3-of-13 behind the three-point line in the team's sixth consecutive loss. Tony Freeland added 18 points and eight boards off the bench, Michael Bizoukas 12 points and Mac Koshwal 11 points, 10 boards, five assists, two blocks and two steals.

Seton Hall scored the first points of the contest and never looked back, converting 56.8 percent from the field to take a 50-35 lead at the break.

In the second half the Pirates made only 38.5 percent from the floor and 2- of-9 beyond the arc, but still were able to cruise to the eight-point win at home.

Seton Hall connected on only 5-of-16 shots behind the three-point line on the afternoon, but made up for it by outscoring the visitors in the paint, 48-38.
