Ypsilanti, MI (Sports Network) - Brandon Bowdry recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Eastern Michigan Eagles to a 66-52 win over the Western Michigan Broncos in Mid-American Conference action at the Convocation Center.

Justin Dobbins, who was tagged with six turnovers, added 17 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles (13-12, 5-7 MAC) as they won for the second time in the last three outings. Carlos Medlock accounted for 14 points and six assists and Jay Higgins 12 points and seven rebounds in the win as well.

The Broncos (12-10, 5-6), losers of two straight and three of the last four, were paced by David Kool with a game-high 22 points, but he too had trouble handling the ball with seven turnovers. Before fouling out Flenard Whitfield posted 12 points and eight rebounds, while Donald Lawson cleared a game-high 13 boards in a losing cause.

WMU shot just 36.4 percent from the field and made 1-of-6 behind the three- point line in the first half, yet trailed by just seven points at the break, 31-24.

In the second half the Broncos again struggled beyond the arc (1-of-7), making it that much easier for the home team to come away with the 14-point win.

Not only did Western Michigan shoot just 37.8 percent from the floor on the day, EMU also forced it into 20 turnovers as well.
