Las Cruces, NM (Sports Network) - Jahmar Young scored 18 points and dished out five assists to lead the New Mexico State Aggies to an 88-64 victory over the Hawaii Warriors in Western Athletic Conference action at the Pan American Center.
Jonathan Gibson and Troy Gillenwater both added 18 points apiece for NMSU (16-9, 9-3 WAC), while Wendell McKines posted a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Roderick Flemings posted a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds for Hawaii (9-16, 2-10), while Adhar Mayen and Brandon Adams contributed 11 and 10 points respectively, in the loss.
The Aggies went into the break with a 42-27 advantage after holding Hawaii to a meager 33.3 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first half.
New Mexico State shot a sizzling 57.1 percent from the field in the second stanza and went on to win by a 24-point margin.
The Aggies connected on 11-of-27 attempts from behind the arc, while Hawaii made just 3-of-17 shots from long range.
