Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - B.J. Monteiro scored 19 points to lead the Duquesne Dukes to an 83-77 upset win over the Charlotte 49ers in an Atlantic 10 Conference clash.

Bill Clark added 18 points for the Dukes (14-12, 5-7 A-10). Damian Saunders added 11 points, while Morakinyo Williams grabbed nine rebounds.

Shamari Spears scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the 49ers (18-7, 8-3). Dijuan Harris added 15 points, Derrio Green 13 and Chris Braswell 10.

Charlotte led 39-35 at halftime despite shooting just 34.2 percent from the floor in the first half. The 49ers were just 1-of-8 from long range.

Charlotte led by 10 at the 17:15 mark of the second half, but Duquesne rallied to lead by nine with 6:57 left. The Dukes shot 53.3 percent from the floor after halftime and were 13-of-18 from the foul line.

Duquesne prevailed despite being outrebounded, 49-34.
