Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - Wayne Chism recorded a double-double to help 20th-ranked Tennessee beat Georgia, 69-60, at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Chism scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Volunteers (19-6, 7-4 SEC), who avoided their first three-game losing streak since January 10-17, 2007.

J.P. Prince had 15 points -- all coming in the second half -- and Bobby Maze added 13 for Tennessee, which overcame a sluggish first half.

Trey Thompkins totaled 25 points and 10 boards to pace the Bulldogs (11-13, 3-8), who have lost nine straight in Knoxville and dropped to 0-9 on the road this season.

Georgia led by as many as eight in the first half and held a 29-24 advantage at the break.

"There was a lot of pressure on us here tonight, and I think we came out a little tight. We had no cohesion, especially on the offensive end," said Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl.

Prince dunked on an alley-oop feed from Maze to tie the game at 37 four minutes into the second half. Consecutive jumpers by Thompkins gave the Bulldogs a 50-49 lead with just under nine minutes remaining. Maze answered with a three at the other end, igniting a 10-0 Tennessee run.

The Bulldogs whittled the deficit to five on two occasions, but couldn't get any closer.

"I did not like our determination at the defensive end at all," said Georgia head coach Mark Fox on the start of the second half. "I thought it was very evident to start the half that we were lacking in that area. We never corrected it. They were more effective in their attack and we were less aggressive defensively. We were a step behind the entire second half."
