Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Matt Howard scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds to help No. 18 Butler set a school record with a 16th consecutive win in a 73-55 trouncing of Illinois-Chicago.
Ronald Nored finished with 16 points, four boards and four assists for the Bulldogs (24-4, 17-0 Horizon), who have already clinched the conference's regular season title. Gordon Hayward posted a double-double with 11 points and as many rebounds for Butler, which hasn't lost since December 22 at UAB.
The Bulldogs won 15 games in a row during the 1999-2000 season.
Robo Kreps had 15 points and Jeremy Buttell added 10 with 10 rebounds for the Flames (6-20, 2-14), who have lost 12 of their last 13 games. UIC fell to a woeful 0-14 in true road games.
