Kent, OH (Sports Network) - Chris Singletary's 17 points and 10 rebounds led the way as the Kent State Golden Flashes downed the Ohio University Bobcats, 74-67, in a Mid-American Conference joust.

Justin Greene scored 15 points and corralled 11 rebounds for the Golden Flashes (19-8, 10-3 MAC) who have won eight of their last nine. Anthony Simpson also scored 15 points. Rodriquez Sherman finished with 11.

D.J. Cooper scored 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and added six assists for Ohio (14-13, 5-8) Armon Bassett finished with 20 points. Tommy Freeman scored 11 points, while Kenneth Van Kempen added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Kent State led 36-34 at halftime despite shooting just 12-of-33 from the floor in the first half. The Golden Flashes were 10-of-11 from the foul in the opening frame.

Kent State was tough at the line in the second half as well, going 16-of-20 at the stripe. Ohio was just 10-of-32 from the floor after halftime.
