Queens, NY (Sports Network) - Jeff Robinson scored 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Seton Hall Pirates to a 59-50 victory over the St. John's Red Storm in a Big East Conference tussle at Carnesecca Arena.

Robert Mitchell added 15 points off the bench in the win for Seton Hall 15-9, 6-7 BE), while Jeremy Hazell finished with 10 points and Herb Pope crashed the boards for a game-high 11 rebounds.

Sean Evans scored 14 points to lead the way for St. John's (14-11, 4-9), while Paris Horne notched 12 points to go with seven boards.

The Red Storm was limited to a miserable 29.0 percent from the floor during the opening stanza, opening a 28-22 halftime lead for Seton Hall.

In the second half, the Pirates held St. John's to just 36.7 percent from the field en route to a nine-point victory.

The Red Storm shot at a meager 32.8 percent pace in the loss.
